approval – Willow Road, Barrow

Another approval, this time at the Charnwood Plans Committee meeting on 28 October 2025. Following some initial feasibility advice for the landowners agent back in 2019, a subsequent outline application by Bloor Homes sought consent for 220 dwellings plus a one form entry primary school. The application was supported by our Flood Risk Assessment and Drainage Strategy that had to grapple with the relocation of the farmstead and its access that passes through an area of flooding, requiring a sequential test. Our Transport Assessment undertook strategic traffic modelling to examine the cumulative impact of allocated sites in Barrow, and constraints on the infrastructure at locations such as Barrow Bridge and the A60/Barrow Road junction. Access will be via a new roundabout on Cotes Road.
