Another day, another roundabout. This time, we are pleased to report technical approval having been gained from Shropshire County Council to the new roundabout at the junction of Buildwas Bank and Much Wenlock Road. Our Infrastructure Design team have been engaged in designing the highway works necessary to deliver Harworth Group’s planning consent for the redevelopment of the Ironbridge Power Station. The Buildwas Bank roundabout mitigates off-site traffic increases, and has been a challenging 3D design project. Our designers have had to juggle various constraints, including the bridge over the River Severn, the downhill gradient of the Buildwas Bank approach, and the need to tie in Buildwas Road. Nevertheless, with assistance from the Council and their checking engineers we achieved technical approval in time for the contractors road space booking.
