ADC are delighted to announce the arrival of Imran Amjad who has joined ADC’s Infrastructure Design service as Senior Technician.
Welcome to ADC Imran!
Last night we enjoyed a few drinks and three escape rooms. Post match analysis showed a healthy competitive streak over who had the fastest time, or the easiest room.

We are chuffed to bits to announce a couple of well deserved promotions here at ADC.

Congratulations ladies and thank you for all your hard work !
The Perkins family own Perkins Bar & Bistro on the site of the former Plumtree railway station. The family submitted an application to expand their operations on the same site, adding additional overnight guest accommodation, a dedicated ceremony hall, and a small rear extension to the existing restaurant. Those proposals have been granted consent by Rushcliffe Borough Council. Our Transport Statement supported the application, with the trickiest part being the assessment of car parking demands given the different uses. We surveyed the existing demand and forecast the potential demand, for various different time periods throughout the week, to ensure sufficient spaces could be provided within the site. Design Haus Architecture’s drawing showing the proposed northern elevation of the restaurant extension is shown below.

We are pleased to report North West Leicestershire District Council’s resolution to grant consent to Harworth Group’s hybrid application known as Bardon Hill West. The application sought full consent for five employment units totalling 2,719sqm for light industry, general industry, and/or storage/distribution use. Outline consent was sought for 4,000sqm of the same uses on the remainder of the site. There were a number of engineering challenges posed by the relatively small sloping site. We carried out extensive ground modelling to understand the earthworks and assist the masterplanning. That overlapped with the drainage strategy set out in our Flood Risk Assessment. The design and assessment of the access addressed interactions with the adjacent level crossing, including discussions with Network Rail and Leicestershire County Council to agree mitigation measures. MDG’s masterplan below.

As part of our regular Toolbox Talks series, today we were treated to a presentation by Xylem about pumping station design. The session was popular with our drainage engineers, although the bribe of a free lunch didn’t persuade many of our transport planners to attend.

Welcome to ADC Courtney !

Can you believe that it’s that time of year again!
ADC would like to wish everyone a wonderful and relaxing time over the Christmas period and look forward to working with you in 2023.
Merry Christmas from us all.
We are pleased to report having gained technical approval to the S278 works that will provide access to the Broadnook Garden Suburb. One of our showcase projects, that we helped gain consent in March 2020, we were appointed to carry out the detailed design of the highway works, earthworks, and drainage in August 2020. Technical Approval marks an important step in the ongoing delivery of the scheme.

The lengthy process of delivering housing is repeated in Rutland where the latest stage of Vistry’s proposal for 75 dwellings reaches an important milestone, more than seven years since we were introduced to the site. Reserved matters and construction to follow, meaning there is still some way to go before there are occupants. Our work focussed on the Transport Assessment and Travel Plan, although we also carried out 3D earthworks assessments to understand adoptable gradients on the steeply sloping site. Planning consultancy and illustrative masterplan by Pegasus Group.
