ADC welcomes yet another new team member!

Marek Piekarski has joined ADC as Principal Engineer within our Infrastructure Design Service.

The transport planning work we have been carrying out for Barratt North Midlands in Cotgrave came to a conclusion on 9 June 2022 at Rushcliffe’s planning committee. Barratt have two sites for 210 and 100 dwellings on Hollygate Lane. However, there were two neighbouring sites for 90 and 45 dwellings where the applicants were Taylor Wimpey and Manor Oak Homes, respectively.

Our Transport Assessments needed to account for the impacts of each individual application, but within a cumulative scenario. Some of the off-site mitigating infrastructure improvements were shared, as was the access roundabout. This meant considerable negotiation with other consultants and Nottinghamshire County Council and it is therefore very pleasing to see all four schemes gained a resolution to grant consent.

We are pleased to note that Fenland District Council have granted consent to Barratt & David Wilson Homes’ detailed planning application for 203 dwellings at Eastrea Road in Whittlesey. Our Transport Assessment and Travel Plan supported the application, and took in to account the neighbouring plot of land that will be occupied by Aldi. Layout by Urban Design.

EXCITING NEWS! – ADC have moved offices!

Our new address is on the 4th Floor of City Buildings on Carrington Street.

A small but significant success for our client Charterpoint who have won their appeal (3271384) against Reigate & Banstead Borough Council. The site is a former commercial nursery and plant centre, that all agreed meant it is previously developed land. The Inspector decided that the proposed development of 10 dwellings would not be inappropriate development in the Green Belt, and allowed the appeal.

The application was supported by our Transport Statement. Through liaison with Surrey County Council, we demonstrated that the development would reduce the amount of traffic using the site, designed an access to modern standards, with footway connections to the existing network. There was no highways reason for refusal although the many objectors raised concerns about highways matters that the Inspector dismissed with reference to our report.

Last night, Rutland County Council’s Plans Committee approved Davidsons’ detailed planning application for 84 dwellings on Uppingham Road in Oakham. It is an important point in the four year journey that we have followed with the project team, providing flood risk and drainage advice, along with highways and transport advice. It is pleasing to see the application over the line. The drainage strategy in particular required various iterations, as the development layout changed and evolved through the application process.

A project in Bingham that we helped get planning consent in 2019 is the subject of a flyover. Lovely to see the finished scheme.
