Technical Director

Phil joined ADC Infrastructure in June 2021 as Technical Director and heads our Infrastructure Design service.

Phil graduated from The University of Leeds with an honours degree in Civil Engineering and Architecture in 1991.  In the early 90s recession, lack of available jobs in his then favourite subjects of architecture and structural engineering led to joining Nottinghamshire County Council as an Infrastructure Engineer, and he’s never looked back. A move to private practice in 1997 putting his new found knowledge and skills to use, ultimately resulted in Phil developing, leading, and growing teams of highways, civil, infrastructure, and drainage engineers for two leading independent multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies.

Phil has a wealth of experience in all the above engineering disciplines, and a track record of bringing forwards innovative and cost-effective solutions to complex engineering problems. (He’s also been known to solve structural engineering problems for his peers, but tries to keep that quiet!)

Out of work, Phil enjoys all movies, woodworking and carving, DIY, and all sports but especially basketball. He can’t resist a Good Beer Festival, loves architecture and exploring new places and old, and is left scratching his head as to where he finds time to fit in his main hobby of long distance triathlons.
