Working as part of Roxhill’s team, this Nationally Strategic Infrastructure Project was granted planning consent in 2016. Adjacent to Castle Donington, the development comprises 6 million sqft of rail served warehouse space and an intermodal freight terminal accommodating up to 16 trains a day. A Transport Working Group was established that included representatives from the six local highway authorities as well as Highways England. Mitigating highway works included alterations to M1 J24, J24A, alterations to the A50 and A453, and a new Kegworth Bypass. Improvements were also made to the pedestrian, cycle and public transport infrastructure to ensure accessibility by these sustainable modes of transport, especially for staff. We continue to work with Roxhill as the proposals are fine tuned to account for specific occupier needs, and to assist the detailed design of the highway works.
