Ian joined ADC in June 2018.  He began working in civil engineering as a drainage engineer working within local government in 1993 whilst completing a BTEC National and Higher National in Civil Engineering by day release. He qualified as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) in 1999.

Keen to further his expertise in transport planning he has worked within this field since 2003, combining working and post graduate distance learning studies at both Nottingham Trent University latterly Edinburgh Napier University, where he was awarded a Master of Science (MSc) in Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering. He also qualified as a member of a variety of professional institutions.

As well as being experienced in transport planning, Ian has gained specialist expertise in traffic signals, databases and GIS, which he brings to the studies that he works upon to process and visualise data.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys going to the cinema and listening to music as well as spending time with his family and friends.
