Dave, or David, he really doesn’t mind which, graduated from Nottingham Trent University with an honours degree in Civil Engineering in 1991. Fired by a desire to work in transport, and youthful idealism about the environmental impact and social inequalities in our transport systems, he began working for a large international consultancy. At the same time he undertook a part time Masters degree in Transport Engineering and Planning at Salford University.
1996 saw a move to BWB Consulting, then a small company of only 35 people. It was the start of a 16 year journey, helping start and then lead the transport and infrastructure planning division, with responsibility for teams in all the company’s offices.
In 2013, having weathered another recession, but ground down by its consequences, it was time for a change. ADC Infrastructure was born.
Out of work, David enjoys all sports. He loves a busman’s holiday, combining his passion for transport, architecture, art, and urban design, with a love of travelling, exploring cultures, places, and the human experience. He is happiest at the end of a hot afternoon, as the sun sets, accompanied by a book, a cold beer, and with the family bustling around getting ready for the night out.
